These classes will bring increased strength and flexibility to the body coupled with deep relaxation and meditation. Importance is put on the five points of yoga; proper exercise, breathing, relaxation, diet and thinking.
Yin Yoga By Janis
Janis Riise was certified to teach yoga through the Southern Okanagan Yoga Academy in Calgary in July 2012. She teaches Hatha and Yin yoga and is passionate about teaching, practicing and studying many styles of yoga. Janis is completing a Kinesiology degree in the spring of 2013 and is currently doing a health promotion practicum which is focussed on promoting the benefits of yoga, meditation and pranayama as a Peer Health Educator with the U of S Student Health Centre. Janis has been personal training here at the YWCA since January 2012 and offers clients 1 on 1 yoga sessions in our studio.
